    Even though I’ve been practicing independently for the last few years, I still have a primary consultant I speak with and also have a group of peers I consult with based on their respective specialties and areas of experience/skill/knowledge.

    I also regularly engage in continuing education every year to keep up to date with evidence based practices to help my clients and sustain my work.

  • Yes, I think especially if you work in private practice, it’s crucial to set up our own support system such as colleagues, peers, consultants, teachers, supervisors, etc. to help us check our work.

    When we work for agencies such as hospitals or schools, there is usually support built in in some way such as a weekly grand round course, case consultation, supervision, etc.
